Vendor credentialing has been recognized by hospitals as an integral service regarding regulatory compliance. The benefits of instating a credentialing program into the hospitals has been recognized by the Ontario Hospital Association, the BPS Supply Chain Secretariat and the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN), to name a few.
There are two main reasons that are creating a demand for credentialing. One is the increasing necessity of meeting the standards for quality care. The second is the need for hospitals to control costs by more actively managing their vendors and limiting their exposure quality breaches.
This has led hospitals and healthcare facilities to ensure everyone walking through their doors is safe (have had a criminal background check) properly trained and immunized, thereby reducing risk to patients within their facilities and meet the standards of providing quality care.
Hospitals’ Occupational Health and Safety departments have always taken a proactive role in ensuring that contractors had the correct credentials. IntelliCentric’s web-based system drives the value of a credentialing program, particularly when it comes to regulatory compliance. Your hospital has deemed vendor credentialing services to be instated as a necessary measure in order to protect themselves, the patients and the vendors from avoidable tribulations.
No, vendor management appreciates the value that vendors bring to hospitals. Vendor management validates business partners both from a corporate perspective as well as the individual representatives that are in the hallways.
One of the drivers for implementing a vendor management program is to track who is in the facility, managing infection control and ensuring that representatives appreciate the hospitals policies.

There is no obligation to join IntelliCentrics.
However, it is important for you to know that you may not be compliant with specific hospital access policy and you may lose access to restricted or patient-sensitive areas within the hospital.
IntelliCentrics certainly will not force you to upgrade to a Premium Membership. However you can only submit credentials etc. to SEC3URE if you are a Premium or Premium Express Member. Without this level of membership you will be unable to use the SEC3URE service to demonstrate your compliance with the hospitals’ access policies. As a result, you may lose access to restricted or patient-sensitive areas within the hospital.
The SEC3URE service is supported in Internet Explorer 9 (latest update version: 9.0.32) and newer as well as the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox.
Credentials
Credentials are defined by each individual hospital. A credential can include immunizations, specific levels of training and professional accreditations. The exact credentials required will be dependent upon the areas of the hospital for which access is required and the hospitals’ specific access policy.
Each hospital determines its access policy and all requirements within that policy. IntelliCentrics has no authority to determine any hospitals’ access policy including required credentials.
Credentials can be scanned and uploaded directly to the SEC3URE website.
Credentials need to be submitted to the SEC3URE service by 5pm Monday to Friday in order for them to be classed as submitted on that day. If they are submitted after 5pm on Friday, a statutory holiday or the weekend, processing of that credential will begin on the next available business day at which point the service-level agreements (SLA’s) commence.
IntelliCentrics does all of the document management on behalf of the healthcare industry representatives.
This includes reminders when credentials are about to expire and notifications of any changes to credential requirements for any hospitals.
IntelliCentrics does not request that you provide credentials. IntelliCentrics is a service that hospitals use to communicate and manage compliance of their access policies. It is the hospitals who request and require your credentials.
Privacy Policy
Once you have attached specific hospitals to your profile, only authorized users within your selected hospitals can see your information. No other hospitals can see your information. Furthermore, you can remove yourself from any hospital, at any time.
Absolutely not. IntelliCentrics has never done this and can assure you that we never will. For further information please visit our Privacy Policy.
